Thyne Scabbard began in the summer of 2002 with members Sky Heydecke (vocals), Travis Robidioux (drums), and Dylan Sevier (guitar) as a side project from bands Iron Sharpens Iron (Sky and Travis) and Innocent Bloodshed (Dylan).
