Don't compare Orlando, Florida's Anberlin to another rock band. Just don't. All lazy journalism aside, and with lead singer Stephen Christian citing influences such as The Smiths, The Cure and Jeff Buckley, it's clear that, though a major contender in the burgeoning independent rock 'n roll scene, Anberlin is a concerted effort of undeniable creative independence. Combining traditional rock goodness with Southern charm and an experimental edge, Anberlin gives new spins on good things without falling into the contrived or pretentious.

Though having only existed a mere year, Anberlin has wasted no time implementing a relentless live schedule and developing a national fanbase with over-the-top live performances and a rarely seen connection between the band and the fans. Last year's performance at Cornerstone Festival, their fifth ever as Anberlin, brought out a crowd of 2,500 sing-along fans. Sure-fire hits like 'Foreign Language' and 'Readyfuels', harkening back to the melodic force and driving fluidity of bands like Foo Fighters, the Juliana Theory and Superdrag, are sure to be radio darlings and live fan favorites.

Featuring an age span between sixteen and twenty-six, Anberlin's coming-of-age anthems ring true within the band as well as with the fans, bringing an element of boyish charm and weathered maturity that broadens the appeal and range of their sincerity, as well as their collective frame of reference.
