Bénabar (real name Bruno Nicolini) was born on June 16, 1969 in Thiais, France. He started playing the trumpet at 8, but after his studies, he directed short films. In 1996, he started writing lyrics, helped by his friends for music : Bénabar was born. He released his first auto-produced album La P'Tite Monnaie in 1998 < went on tour. After his second self-titled album in 2001, Bénabar was introduced to French music < in 2003, with Les Risques Du Métier, he received a Victoire De La Musique. Between humour < melancholy, he was back in 2005 with Reprise Des Négociations.
