Bobby Valentino began his career in the music business in 1975 (years before Bobby V-Tino was born) playing in a band called the Fabulous Poodles, with them he released 3 albums and toured extensively in Europe and the USA.
When the band split up in 1980 he became a session musician and has worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty < the Heartbreakers, Mark Knopfler, Big Country, Billy Bragg, Style Council, to mention but a few. His violin has been heard on many hit singles throughout the world, appearing on Top of the Pops 17 times with 7 different acts.
The biggest of these hits in Europe was a song called “Young at Heart” by a Scottish group called the Bluebells. Bobby is now credited as a co-writer of this hit but had to go to the High Court in London to assert his right to receive royalties.
There are 3 Bobby Valentino solo albums available: “You’re in the Groove, Jackson” (1991); You’re Telling Me” (1996) and “This is Murder” (2000). With his band, Los Pistoleros he has released 2 albums: “Trigger Happy” (2001) and “Cult 45” (2004) featuring his timeless crooning voice and many of his songs. One of these songs – “Swingin’ with the Chickens” was No.1 in a European airplay chart for 6 weeks.
