EDITH BACKLUND writes songs about women with seduction in their eyes and daggers in their purses. About fallen war-heroes and her fear of dying. Her new album <#8220;Death by Honey<#8221; was released in Sweden on April 6 2008.<#8220;Death by Honey<#8221; was produced and recorded by Pär Wiksten of The Wannadies. He has also been involved in the writing process.
Edith Backlund was still a teenager when <#8220;You and Me-Song<#8221; owned the charts back in the 90<#8217;s. Needless to say, Pär Wiksten and The Wannadies were the it-band. Had Edith known back then that she would one day be recording an album with the man whose voice she<#8217;d been listening to for hours at end, she would not have believed it.
Edith and Pär first met over coffee, a meeting arranged by a mutual friend. They decided to write a few songs together, just for the hell of it. Before they knew what hit them, a year had passed.
Ten new songs are now ready to strike the world with amazement.
BACKGROUND
Backlund has previously released the EP <#8220;Waste another day<#8221; (2005) and the full-length album <#8220;Merely Daydreams<#8221; (2006).
Both records received good airplay and even better reviews.
During 2006 Backlund toured with her band throughout Sweden and appeared at some of Sweden<#8217;s biggest tv-shows.
Neil Young found her song <#8220;Rosie<#8221; and put it on his website <#8220;Living with war<#8221; where it was voted one of the top-ten anti-war songs.
