The coming together of friends Jason Vasquez, Ralph Medrano, and Tyrone Pachenco, who adopted the stage names Son Doobie, DJ Ralph M, and Tomahawk Funk, respectively, came together in Los Angeles in 1992. Known for their drugged-up, pimped-out, beats, the group was an undergroud hit for most of their career, churning out a series of well-received singles and generating buzz wherever they went.
