Formed by guitarist Kazuya and bassist Ryuji in 1992, they came into the Nagoya-kei scene, with other bands such as Kuroyume, Laputa, and Rouage, among others. In December 1993, Shun joined on guitar. In 1994 they released a 2-track demotape titled 'Karuma', and a few months later released their debut independent album, 'Taiyou no Toriko', on the NOIR label, which featured Tatsuya on drums. Their sound during this period was dark and aggressive. Their second and first full length album, MASK, played a role in the transition between their earlier darker material and their later pop-oriented music, and introduced Tohru on drums, who had joined them in march of 1995. With MARBLE, they began to fully embrace the pop-rock style hinted on the previous album. Eventually signing to a major label, FOR LIFE RECORDS, they released ONE -one for all-, in 1998, which was considerably lighter and underproduced than the previous works. Their 5th album, THE.LOST.INNOCENT, released in 1999, was more experimental, simultaneously featuring songs in both the pop vein and moodier tracks such as 'Masquerade in the Room' and 'Rainy Merry-go-round'. In 2000, the Stoic Stone label was started and EAS was released on that label. EAS was much more raw and edgy, but keeping in touch with the pop-rock vein they had adopted, which they would continue to do from then on with their next five albums. However, as their singles would reveal, they have always experimented with a diverse range of styles. In 2004 Fanatic Crisis joined up with enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa and folk-hiphop duo Billiken to form the band Cross Clover and released a maxi-single called Evergreen in 2004, which was also featured as a b-side to their final single, everlove.
In 2005, they played their final concert performance at the Tokyo Bay NK Hall. A 2-disc DVD was released soon after.

Misc.
In addition to the initial pressing of THE.LOST.INNOCENT, which features a white digipack case with a velcrow strap, there is also an alternate version with a black cover that comes in a regular jewel case. This is the remastered version and features superior sound to that of the previous edition, though this release tends to be overlooked.
There were alternate covers released for Tsuki no Hana, Memories in White, and Defect Lover Complex.
Tsutomu has a slight accent to what typical central Japanese dialect sounds like, which is apparent during his singing. For instance, in Fanatic Crisis's 4th single, "Rainy Merry-go-round", his pronunciations of "maware" and "yume" clearly display an accent.
The Shockwave '96 version of 'Truth' features a piano solo before the gutar solo, as opposed to the choir in the album version.
