Group Home is a Hip Hop duo, consisting of members Lil<#8217; Dap and Melachi the Nutcracker. They came to prominence as members of the Gang Starr Foundation, along with Gang Starr members DJ Premier < Guru, and MC<#8217;s Afu Ra, Bahamadia, Big Shug and Jeru The Damaja. Lil<#8217; Dap made his rhyming debut on Gang Starr<#8217;s 1992 classic Daily Operation, on the song <#8220;I<#8217;m The Man<#8221;. Both members appeared on Gang Starr<#8217;s critically acclaimed 1994 effort Hard to Earn, on the tracks <#8220;Speak Ya Clout<#8221; and <#8220;Words From The Nutcracker<#8221;. In 1995, they dropped their debut album Livin<#8217; Proof. The album was very well received, mainly due to DJ Premier<#8217;s advanced production work. The duo released their sophomore album <#8220;A Tear For The Ghetto<#8221; in 1999.
