Guilty Simpson is an MC from the hailed hip-hop scene of Detroit. Guilty was introduced to many through J Dilla who first included him on <#8220;Strapped<#8221; from Jaylib<#8217;s <#8220;Champion Sound<#8221; LP. Since then, Guilty has risen higher and higher in Hip-Hop<#8217;s collective conscience alongside peers like Black Milk, Phat Kat, Ta<#8217;raach and Frank-N-Dank. Originally to release an all-Dilla produced LP entitled <#8220;The Verdict<#8221;, it was shelved for reasons that were not entirely clear.
He has continued to make mixtape appearances and release twelve-inches with songs such as <#8220;Clap Your Hands<#8221; (from the Stones Throw <#8220;Chrome Children<#8221; compilation), <#8220;Let<#8217;s Smoke One<#8221;, and <#8220;For the D<#8221;.
Guilty<#8217;s debut album changed from being titled <#8220;The Verdict<#8221; to <#8220;Ode to the Ghetto<#8221; and was released in 2008.
