A native of the Sinaloa region of Mexico, German Montero embraced the area<#8217;s predominant banda style and unveiled his debut album, PENSANDO EN TI, in 2008. Montero<#8217;s reedy voice plays well off of his song<#8217;s brass-heavy arrangements, which nod to traditional Mexican music while incorporating a slick, modern aesthetic. Montero<#8217;s follow-up, COMPRENDEME, expanded his audience in both Mexico and the United States, making him one of the most popular young banda singers of his era.
