Horsell Common were an Australian band from Melbourne, Victoria. They made their live debut in early 2002, following this up with a string of EPs, and released their first full-length album The Rescue on 29 September 2007. The first single off the album - titled <#8220;Good From Afar<#8221; - was released on 1 September 2007 and received national airplay on the triple j radio station.
Their drummer Leigh Pengelly announced his departure in early 2008, and the band commenced their final tour with him, <#8220;The Rescue<#8221; album tour. After this tour, the band then toured for their <#8220;Sing the News<#8221; single with a replacement drummer, being unsuccessful in finding a new one. The band disappeared soon after this tour, leaving many fans to believe they had broken up. This was confirmed with the appearance of lead singer Mark Stewart<#8217;s solo project <#8216;Jonesez<#8217;.
