Hyubris is a heavy/folk metal band, with Celtic roots, hailing from Tramagal, Portugal.From 2001 onwards, Hyubris started to play continuously, without any hiatus.
The name <#8216;Hyubris<#8217; derives from the Greek word <#8217;Hybris<#8217;, which means <#8217;Challenge to the Gods<#8217;.
The band consists of:
Filipa Mota - Vocals/Flute
Jorge Cardoso - Guitar
Panda - Bass/Portuguese guitar
Joćo David - Keyboards
Lulla - Drums
Hyubris soon caught the attention and recognition of the public, thanks to their original sound. Basically their music contains elements from rock/metal music, however sometimes it also includes influences from other styles, like progressive-, Celtic-/medieval- or even Portuguese popular music.
Before the end of 2002, Hyubris recorded their demo CD called <#8217;Desafio<#8217; (which means <#8217;Challenge<#8217;). Desafio presented four songs of the many they had written that far.
In 2005 they released their self-titled album <#8216;Hyubris<#8217;. All of the 12 songs were recorded in Portugal (Oporto) in the studio <#8216;Rec<#8217; N<#8217; Roll<#8217;, and mastered by Tommy Newton at <#8216;Area 51 Recording Studios<#8217;, Germany.
