JAH Roots is a reggae band based out of the Midwest. Their extensive touring has gained them a very strong fan base all over the US, and listeners all over the world. According to CDbaby, Jah Roots is a “Roots reggae band with a danceHall flare. Jah Roots are so unique when it comes to their style. The music is definitely reggae although their influences are diverse add a little bit of dancehall, roots rock, and jam band.”
Their most recent record is titled Crucial, and they are currently on tour promoting the album (Summer 2007). The band brings a welcome return to the essentials of reggae with a sound that seems like it came straight from the islands. However, Jah Roots has also been creative enough to mix the sounds of hip hop and two-tone ska in with roots reggae too.
