Hell Teacher N<#363;b<#275; (<#22320;<#29508;<#20808;<#29983;<#12396;<#65374;<#12409;<#65374;, Jigoku Sensei N<#363;b<#275;?) is a horror-comedy manga created by the collaborative efforts of writer Sh<#333; Makura (<#30495;<#20489;<#32724;?) and artist Takeshi Okano in Shueisha's manga anthology book Weekly Sh<#333;nen Jump. The series ran for 276 chapters (not including the two pilot chapters where N<#363;b<#275; was known as Nubo (<#12396;<#65374;<#12412;<#65374; N<#363;b<#333;)) from Issue 38, 1993 through Issue 24, 1999. A 48-episode anime series based on the manga was created by Toei Animation, and aired from 1996–1997 on Animax and TV Asahi. The anime resulted in three movies and three OAV episodes. A spinoff story for Izuna Hazuki the itako-girl, Izuna the Spiritual Medium (<#38666;<#23186;<#24107;<#12356;<#12378;<#12394;), has been running in Oh, Super Jump since July 2007.
The series follows Meisuke Nueno (<#40314;<#37326;<#40180;<#20171;, Nueno Meisuke?), aka N<#363;b<#275; (<#12396;<#65374;<#12409;<#65374;?), the homeroom teacher for Class 5-3 at D<#333;mori Elementary (<#31461;<#23432;<#23567;<#23398;<#26657;, D<#333;mori Sh<#333;gakk<#333;?). More than a teacher, however, he is a skilled exorcist, protecting the town of D<#333;mori from supernatural threats with strength borrowed from a powerful demon sealed in his left hand—a technique he calls the Demon's Hand (<#39740;<#12398;<#25163;, Oni no Te?).
