Novice is a rock band from Hollister, California. The band formed in November of 2002 after Singer/Guitarist Mike Gross and Lead Guitarist Josh Fry's previous project (longshot) had come to an end.
Both members had wanted to form a new band for some time, but could not find a drummer. Then one magical day Mike was hanging out at home like he always did, when Josh decided to stop by with a little surprise... A DRUMMER!!! Well... the story is written that Mike knew not of this boys amazing skill! Then Josh, the boy that could not keep a secret, decided to let the cat out of the bag....... Thus creating NOVICE! But!!! It is also written that Novice was not yet complete... They were missing something... There was no low end to their sound... That was when Jared Fry was asked to join the band. Jared added a dimension to the band that was not present before. NOVICE WAS COMPLETE!
Novice started out as only a side project but quicklygained the interest of each member and became their dream...
