Pierre Bachelet was born on May 25, 1944 in Paris, France. He spent his childhood in Calais, then went back to Paris to study cinema < did his military service. He started playing guitar in Parisian halls, composing for television shows. In 1972, he directed a film about Pablo Picasso < recorded his first 7". 2 years later, he became a composer for films : "Emmanuelle", "La Victoire En Chantant" < "Les Bronzés Font Du Ski". In 1980, he released his second album, including his first hit "Elle Est D'Ailleurs", then he continued in 1982 with "Les Corons".
Other hits followed : "Découvrir L'Amérique" in 1983, "Marionnettiste" in 1985, "Vingt Ans" in 1987, "L'Homme En Blanc" in 1989 < "La Ville Ainsi Soit-Il" in 1996, and the following albums were Un Homme Simple in 1998, Une Autre Lumière in 2001 < a tribute album to Jacques Brel, Tu Ne Nous Quittes Pas in 2003. In 2001, Pierre celebrated 20 years of career at Paris' Olympia. He died of cancer at 60, on February 15, 2005.
