Ross Golan is from Chicago. He began playing piano at age 5, and soon thereafter wrote his first song, entitled "Steve the Dog." Ross loves writing songs and playing hockey. By 15 Ross began playing guitar, and was growing musically bored of the Chicago suburbs. Knowing he needed some direction, Ross turned to the wisest of the Golan family, Grandma Olga. On his grandmother's request, Ross moved to Los Angeles in 1998. Grandma Olga's only advice for her beloved grandson was, "find molehead." Completely baffled by his grandmother's orders, Ross began his journey. Upon his arrival in California, Ross found shelter in East L.A. This drastic change from the docile Chicago suburbs to the electric East L.A. barrio was exactly what Ross needed. He immediately immersed himself in the culture of Los Angeles. Armed with fresh new songs and several cans of mace he began looking for "molehead."

On a clear, sunny California afternoon, Ross met with producer/musician extraordinaire Marvin Etzioni. Marvin, an amateur psychic, informed Ross that he knew where he could find a "head," but no "mole." Figuring half of the puzzle was better than none; Marvin introduced Ross to Bryan Head.

Bryan Head plays drums and was born in the booming, gold mining town of Hemet, California. Bryan began playing piano at age 4, but quickly switched to the drums after a freak supermarket accident that involved a TV dinner and four cartons of chocolate milk. Not only is Bryan's last name "Head," but he's also a mother trucker of a drummer. It's of no coincidence that Ross got a drummer while merely searching for "molehead." Grandma Olga's wishes were coming to fruition, and Ross and Bryan began honing in on their sounds and beats.

About a week into their friendship, Ross informed Bryan of his grandmother's vision and how amazing it was to have found the "head" of "molehead." The ever-elusive "mole" was still missing, until one fateful day at a local rehearsal studio. Ross, Bryan and Marvin were practicing some new material and decided to take a break. While outside, they ran into one of Bryan's old buddies, Billy.

Billy is from the beach side nook of Laguna Beach, California. He began playing drums at age 3. After years of waking his family up at 6AM bashing the drums naked, Billy switched to bass and began wearing clothes.

Ross and Bryan asked Billy to come into the studio and play with them. Billy obliged and, as they say, "the room exploded!" They instantly knew the chemistry was something special. Marvin even began break-dancing! As fate would have it Ross and Bryan got their bassist and Grandma Olga's vision was realized. You might be wondering what Billy's last name is? Well, it's Mohler.

Ross Golan < Molehead's debut album, Reagan Baby, will be in stores April 2004.
