Founding members Alin Ashraf and Dave Carlson met at a typical New Jersey basement show in April of 2000. The two became friends and after a while, the idea was thrown around of starting a band just for fun on the side. In June, Alin and Dave decided to organize a practice; Dave asked two of his friends to come to play guitar and drums. The practice went well and soon the four met weekly turning this side project into a full-time band. While in the studio, the band made the decision to get a new singer, someone who could bring something special to the band. The band found the voice they were looking for in Ian Musgrove.
Not only was Ian a good singer, but Ian immediately clicked with Alin and Dave and the three became friends fast. Soon the three finally solidified a line-up with the addition of brothers Jordan and Garrett Crouse to play drums and lead guitar. For the first time, The June Spirit actually felt like a comfortable, confident, and dedicated band. All five members became close friends and remain that way today. They're feeling stronger than ever and anticipate what awaits in the future.
