Wallen (real name Nawell Azzouz) was born on January 23, 1978 in Bobigny, France. She grew up playing the violin and the banjo < went to the Conservatoire at 8. Then she turned to American music < in 1996, she met producer Sulee B Wax : she wanted to sing funk, hip-hop < R<B. In 1998, she released her first single "Je Ne Pleure Pas". The following year, she released the single "Sous Mes Pas", on the compilation Indigo. Then she recorded her first album À Force De Vivre, released in September 2001. In 2002, she was nominated at the Victoires De La Musique for "R<B album". Wallen released her second album La Vie Devant Soi in 2004.
