News - 2012 The BRIT Awards: Ed Sheeran, Adele and Jessie J amongst nominees

Adele and Jessie J are among the artists with multiple nominations this years' BRIT Awards, scoring three nods each. With less than six weeks to go until The BRIT Awards the complete list of nominees was announced on Thursday night, January 12th during a special launch at The Savoy, London.

Meanwhile, the Yorkshire-born singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran appears in four sifferent categories, his battle includes the award for British Breakthrough Act where are also nominated Anna Calvi, Jessie J, Emeli Sande and The Vaccines. Adele, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine and PJ Harvey are all up for the MasterCard British Album of the Year, the biggest award of the evening.

In the International category, Beyonce Knowles, Bjork, Feist, Lady GaGa and Rihanna are pitted against each other in Female Solo Artist. Jay-Z and Kanye West, meanwhile, are up for Best Group against Fleet Foxes, Foo Fighters, Lady Antebellum and Maroon 5. Special honor for Outstanding Contribution to Music this year is going to be given to Blur.

Due a week after the 54th annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place, The BRIT Awards will hand the prizes on February 21st, at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Check out the complete list of nominations below.
