After announcing plans of a new album almost two weeks ago, the Cambridge, Mass. based rock band Passion Pit have showcased the lead single titled "Take A Walk", off their sophomore album Gossamer due this summer. The track is a expansive, drippy, emotive one that talks about financial troubles and suburban alienation, accompanied by the electro-pop rhythms.

Passion Pit's "Take A Walk" new single



Passion Pit's first album, Manners was released in 2009 and sold out 285,000 copies. It received critical acclaim, and was followed by a series of remixes in 2010 and 2011. Gossamer will be released July 23 on Columbia Records.

Meanwhile, Passion Pit have already mapped out a North American tour to support the follow-up to Manners. After performing at summer fests like Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, the group will share a bill with Hot Chip at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 9.
