"Climax" singer Usher teamed up with rapper Pharrell Williams for a brand new track titled "Twisted", as a fresh preview recently hit the web. "Twisted" is a new track from his upcoming album Looking 4 Myself.
The short preview begins with Usher's vocals, while Pharrell later joins him with some verses: "She felt so alive, said at home life is so dead/ 20 of us on vest… uh there she go then/ Uh can I hold that/ What you talking bout? Ho ahead forehead/ Tell her home girl now it’s getting worse…/ And I was tryna hook her up with Usher/ So I gave her that white Chanel lipstick/ She said how you get more out twisted".
The crooner has spoken with MTV News about the track. " 'Twisted' is more of a nostalgic record, so when you think about the classic R&B record, we managed a way to modernize it, even though that's very relevant," the singer said. "You hear records like Cee-Lo, you hear Bruno Mars and also Andre 3000, and that sound is very relevant in this time. So this was kind of our way to tie it all together and give you something different that you probably wouldn't normally get from me."
Usher "Twisted" ft Pharrell:
Looking 4 Myself - due in the UK on June 12 and a day later in the US - has a standard edition which contains 14 new tracks in total, while a deluxe version will have 4 more songs. Usher has collaborated with producers such as Swedish House Mafia, Max Martin and Diplo for the project, and has also recorded a duet with Empire of the Sun's Luke Steele.
"Life is a workout, man, it's like a treadmill, and you gotta be with it, you gotta just stay with it," Usher explained about the album. "For me, I've had the fortunate ability to always be mindful of other things and other people. I'm not so caught up in what I'm doing that I can't be cognizant of what other people enjoy. ... Now, I think music should be used as a channel to really allow people to have different experiences. So, this album is all about bottling up those different experiences."
