NME wouldn't blame you for having doubts about Shitdisco. Inevitably, there's a whiff of novelty about a band who started out playing Portakabins in Glasgow as part of an art school project.Chuck in the daft publicity photos and a debut single that fantasised about having various obscure disco producers "around for tea", and it would be easy to conclude that Shitdisco are little more than a silly distraction from the serious, grown-up business of everyone from Arcade Fire to Patrick Wolf....full text |

| Say what you like, but a name like Shitdisco (pronounced 'Shhhdisco', presumably for radio types), quite apart from making you laugh, immediately arouses curiosity in the band and their music. Is their moniker a pun, or do they really promise a substandard night out? Certainly they have a sense of humour. But has this been compromised so they can hitch a ride on the Klaxons' smiley faced lapels?...full text |

Who?: Shitdisco is an insanely fun dance-punk act from Glasgow, Scotland. The perfectly accented and deep vocals bring to mind other acts such as Dogs Die In Hot Cars or The Photo Atlas.
