 Ben Cooper (aka Radical Face) not so spookily titles this band/man's album "Ghost." Although ghosts are usually freaks that come out at night, or bearers of bad news, exemplified by Scrooge's troubling encounters during "A Christmas Carol," the gentle nature of Cooper's music is hardly scary at all. | Radical Face is the brainchild of Ben Cooper, also of indie duo Electric President. On Ghost, Cooper takes the delicate folk sound of an Elliott Smith or Sam Beam and filters it through a set of more atmospheric and intricate arrangements. The album has a largely seamless production style as several tracks flow continuously together to lend the project an epic/cinematic feeling, though it's an epic end achieved through minimalist means. | Ben Cooper and his one man band Radical Face have created yet another gem that is likely to be found in Zach Braff's CD collection. Cooper sounds like he could have influences which range from Death Cab For Cutie to Margot And The Nuclear So and So's. The Floridian, who is also half of the duo Electric President, has taken his project in a more acoustic and somewhat mainstream direction.
