The Brooklyn based band known as Asobi Seksu has released a gorgeous collection of songs that collectively makes up the album known as “Citrus.” A recipe for their sound could go something like; start off with 5 quarts of vintage MBV wall of sound guitars, mix in 3 cups of Cocteau Twins inspired airy vocals, add 2 lbs of prime Saloon like indie pop melodies, throw in 6 pieces of finely chopped Peter Hook inspired bass lines, and add a dash of the harmonies sung by the fairies in the Mothra movies....full text |

| Just the other day, I plunged deep into my album collection and pulled a few albums I haven't listed to for a while, for the purpose of listening at work. One such album was My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, widely considered a classic album, a must for any self-respecting indie snob. And prior to that day, I had always designated shoegazer rock as "lazy day inside the house, preferably while it's foggy out" music.
