Get the earplugs out, as Black Helicopter pulls the great-big amps, plodding hard-rock dynamics and sludgy arrangements that demand Invisible Jet be played at volumes that invite visits from landlords or the police. Finding a kinship for the hearing-wrecking alt-rock of yesteryear, Black Helicopter conjures of visions of the Dinosaur Jr./Sebadoh axis as well as grunge's dirtier warriors. | From the first Kyuss-style heavy riff at the beginning of "Buick Electra" to the last lines of the slowed down "Never Stop," this album kicked my ass. It didn't kick my ass in the audio pummeling way that leaves my ears bleeding and turning the volume knob down, but more in the way of being totally blindsided while making a left turn and just never knowing what hit you....full text |

Black Helicopter do because, back then, they used to be in ‘name’ Boston bands Green Magnet School and Kudgel who played alongside their more famous counterparts.
