Oceansize - Frames Review

On their last album Everyone Into Position, Oceansize singer Mike Vennart admits the band made a small but significant concession in search of airplay, including more melodic material than they might do normally. Frames - with its clever, multi-dimensional title - seeks to redress the balance and let the band do their stuff untempered....full text Oceansize is a band who has made hard rock interesting for me to listen to and they make me want to listen to it. 2005's “Everything In Position' was a important album for the band. The album showed the range of the band and their musical diversity. Just by have a track like “A Homage To Shame” and “Music For Nurse” on the shame album shows a lot of range and class. “Frames” clocks in a slim nine songs but also has two tracks which exceeded the ten minute mark as the band turn to a more epic approach....full text The third album from Oceansize sees the band seemingly continuing attempts to baffle listeners with their multi-genre epic rock sounds - offering some insight into why they have yet to set the industry on fire.
