Mónica Naranjo, the Spanish singer, is back again in order to captivate our senses. She has evolved and as a result of that, she is going to release a new cd which name is MN TARANTULA on April. Her first single, called EUROPA, will be released on March. It will be THE CHOICE... My personal suggestion: THE GREATEST SPANISH SINGER EVER BORN. | I've known about Naranjo since she began her music career, way back in the day when I was a young child (I'm 20 now), but her music didn't appeal too much to me then. Somehow, my completely forgot about her while discovering artists of my interest. A few months before rumors of this album began to spread around, I came across a cut edit of 'Europa' (the first single off of 'Tarantula') and all I could think to myself was, "Wow." 'Tarantula' will definitely go down in Naranjo's music career as her most creative album of all time, unless she records an even better album in the future. This is a golden masterpiece that not many people understand, since it's based on difficult life complications and experiences, mostly related to the power love and relationships have over us and our minds, and not on the meaningless trash that we see all over the radio & TV such as; falling in love with a stripper, looking sexy riding a tractor, or the paparazzi following you around all the time. 'Tarantula' expresses realistic pain and events related to Naranjo's life experiences, which could be anyone's darkest moments at any point in their lives. Monica Naranjo's 'Tarantula' is beatifully, clearly, uncensored and bluntly expressed with class and sophistication from beginning to end. If you have listened to Fey's limited edition of 'Vertigo,' to the track titled, 'To be honest,' included on the English disk, or 'Siento' & 'Alma gemela/The way you love me,' that is the sound closest to Naranjo's 'Tarantula' that I can compare it to. There is not enough words to describe the beauty of 'Tarantula.'...full text |

Monica Naranjo - what a voice! I'm so glad I tried out her new album, Tarantula, because I have really been loving it. I hadn't heard of her before this album but I'm trying to catch up with what I've missed - she's a fantastic artist! Her voice is so expressive and engaging - she's one of those singers who could sing the phone book and you'd be entranced.
Tarantula is dance at its most epic. It's actually rather operatic in parts! Monica's mighty vocals are supported and enhanced by beautiful production. This album makes for truly satisfying listening - every element works perfectly.
"Europa" kicks the album off in grand style. It's ambient, orchestral, and rock n' roll all at the same time. An absolutely stunning track. The intense vibe of the first track continues on into "Todo Mentira," with deep beats and big vocals. Things slow down a bit with the lovely "Para Siempre," but the dark, ethereal feeling is still very much there....full text |
