Lifted from their recently released second album EMERGENCY, The Pigeon Detectives are back with new single SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT, released through Leeds based label Dance To The Radio. In the year since the bands debut, little it seems has changed in the world of The Pigeon Detectives, SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT proving that whilst they can still bang out an infectiously upbeat sounding slice of indie pop with the best of them, this is nothing even remotely evolved from where they were when we first stumbled across them. So its crashing powerchords, bouncy choruses and snappy drum beats all the way again here, your typical Supergrass meets Ash meets Blur indie rock love in; short, choppy, catchy melodies married to snappy guitar clips and bundles of optimistic energy. If you're desperately hungry for strictly more of the same from The Pigeon Detectives, then SAY IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT is going to put a massive smile on your face for three delightful minutes, but if you're looking for a little more variety and flavour, this is strictly more of the same from a band who could really do with spicing things up a touch more if they really want to stay relevant and fresh....full text |

Now enshrined as rollicking indie, harmony twirling royalty in the minds of modern musos, Matt Bowman and crew continue to find it easy to continue to carve out a hook laden groove. They are now on their third single from second album, ‘Emergency’ that took a little longer than their strutting, swaggering gem concealing debut to settle a few doubts about their merits. However, ‘Say It Like You Mean It’ is carefree and harmless. The lyrics capture a simple sincerity that comes across in the delivery. “Should it always be this easy?” Bowman exclaims, mid-chorus.
