They owe (a great deal of) their sensibilities to the 1980s, not least because Trevor Horn has produced the album, but try not to ‘really quite like them a lot actually’ at your peril. | | Drowned in sound | | Captain have me torn. Part of me hates the sing-along choruses, dripped in synth and glossy production. But then, paradoxically, the other side to me rather ashamedly loves the overtly clean sound, all-too-perfect vocals and perfectly-formed pop structures.
