Cobra Starship is one of those bands you love to hate to love. I can’t think of anyone I know that will up and say that this album is great, that his lyrics are actually decent, or that any part of this album is enough for any kind of celebration. But that doesn’t change the fact that Cobra Starship has fans (myself included), and the fact is, I’m more than willing to give this album a horrible grade because it’s just that. I still stand as a Cobra fan, but any others need not apply. For Cobra fans, hold on tight to this album: this may be all that’s left....full text

Catatonic and fuzzy is certainly not the type of music many expected from Cobra Starship, the newest effort from Midtown frontman Gabe Saporta. However, that’s exactly what Saporta delivers to open While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets. From sounding almost unsure of himself to the driving dance-party sounds of “Send My Love to the Dancefloor, I’ll See You In Hell,” listeners befriend Gabe’s alter-ego, seemingly the same one who penned “Bring It,” anchor of the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack and the song which built the independent hype around Cobra Starship....full text
