Bellini consists of members hailing from the respectable towers of DC/NY post-hardcore veterans Girls Against Boys and The Romulans, not to mention husband and wife combo Govanna Cacciola and Agostino Tilotta from Italy's Uzeda. Produced by frequent collaborator (for just about everybody these days) Steve Albini, The Precious Prize Of Gravity is the collective's third album and is a rather morose yet exciting mix of discordance, lyrical despair - four of the tracks, including The Thin Line are about the deaths of loved ones - and rythmic experimentation. Songs like opener Wake Up Under A Truck and Susie showcase the slightly more brash territory often synonymous with Albini affiliations whereas Tiger's Milk and Numbers demonstrate the band's ability to juxtapose this with clever, yet haunting and often clashing melodies, recollecting elements of Instrument-era Fugazi.
