Despite a long run of cancelled UK gigs and delays to this album, Elliott had seemed to be recovering from a life full of drink and drugs. US shows had gone down well, and a 7" release of 'Pretty (Ugly Before)' and its stunning, stripped-down B-side 'A Distorted Reality Is Now A Necessity To Be Free' had promised so much. ...full text |
