Club 8 - The People's Record reviewThere are some things about Club 8 records that are always the same. The line-up, for one thing-- Johan Angergård is the composer, and Karolina Komstedt is the singer. Her voice is always polite and gentle; his songs are consistently tuneful in the low-key way that characterizes contemporary Scandinavian indie pop. Their newest album, The People's Record drops May 18th on Labrador Records with the lead single "Western Hospitality". In the process of making the record, Club 8 was inspired by Brazilian and West African music—they even hired a Cuban percussionist to do drums.
