| I love you but I have these oozing pustules… I love you but I have to pay this stupid traffic ticket so we can't go to dinner… There are so many permutations of this name, and so many ways to make a mockery of their sincerity (even if it might be a little artsy), that it doesn't seem fair. | In an age of ridiculous, heinous and plain ole non-descript band names, we can thank the Austin-based quintet I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness for giving us a fairly accurate description of their sound and an entertaining mouthful of a moniker which makes the task of name-dropping all the more Sisyphean for erstwhile hipsters. Indeed, as the name implies, the band is a fairly cynical, at times overly serious, darkly atmospheric, angular new-wave group....full text |
