Dizzee Rascal - DirteeTV.com reviewo lets get into this track-by-track review.

‘Dirtee TV.com Intro’ is exactly that, an intro to the mixtape introducing the Dirtee Stank roster and featuring a little cameo from none other than Tim Westwood.

The first proper track is ‘Guts N Glory’ featuring Dizzee and Scrufizzer and is produced by Dizzee with Musical D. The production on this track is as grimy as it gets and it’s nice to see Dizzee back on Grime after his forays into pop music. The track was the first to be leaked of the tape and definitely wet our appetites for what was to come. ...full text

So not officially a new album from Dizzee, but something far, far better- a mixtape return to the stanking gutter grime with which he made his name back in the early noughties. Out go the Butlins disco rap and happy face buffoonery of Raskit's recent chart toppers, and back come concrete slabs of bass, beats as sparse as working street lights in East London and crazy hype violent lyrics- sometimes laced with cartoonish humour, sometimes with spitting rage. Guesting alongside Dizzee are MCs from his Dirty Stank label, Scruffizer, Newham Generals and Smurfie Syco, and a whole lot of bars from England’s arguably greatest MC, D Double E....full text

After being pretty much low key throughout much of 2011, Dizzee Rascal marks the New Year by releasing much anticipated mixtape Dirtee TV.com. This 25 track free mixtape was given the title to promote the rapper’s latest venture into online media. Mixed by DJ MK, the tape features the Newham Generals (D Double E & Footsie), Scrufizzer, Kano, Example, JME and more.

Dirtee TV.com’s serves as a legitimate response to where Dizzee’s allegiance to the underground grime scene may have been called into question. After witnessing his massive success in the mainstream, one can imagine many a fan would have foreseen a possible return to Grime by him as nothing more than a myth. It would though, be outrageous to mention pioneers of Grime without mentioning Dizzee. With that in mind it would be safe to say this release will be greeted by fans with nothing but open arms and eager ears.

Dirtee TV.com Intro eases us in with Dizzee introducing the mixtape with a shout-out from BBC Radio One‘s Tim Westwood. Giving a stamp of approval in trademark fashion he states “We’re doing it real legendary kid!”. Many other guest shout-outs litter the mixtape, including include DJ’s Logan Sama and Sir Spyro. Evidently a subtle way of giving that certified/approved feel to it. A successful strategy? You decide.

What is certified is the next track, Guts N’ Glory. This is in no uncertain terms a collaboration of a grime legend and the hot, new up-and-comer in Scrufizzer. Dizzee attacks this gritty production with exceptional energy and flow. It does sound as though the Boy In Da Corner of old we all know had never lost it. He delivers a direct chorus “No guts no glory!” in which Scrufizzer is able to feed off the energy and drop his verse effectively, utilizing his trademark ‘skippy’ flow.

Grime legend D Double E introduces himself on Catch Me If You Can, which features a chorus from Example. The instrumental (produced by Pow 2011 producer Teddy) is a fusion of old school Garage drums, a grimey bassline and brass section. Dizzee teams up with D Double and Footsie on Hype! They all give a good account of themselves, especially Double who’s flow particularly suits the percussion based Footsie production....full text
