Wymond describes his early writing process: “For the first time I had a sense of place, and a reverence of humility for my surroundings. I was full of wonder, but I felt very small, and went inward to begin the work of writing.” He elaborates, “Sonically the mood had to reflect the somberness of moving between the existential chaos of my twenties into this new perspective of living … The mysterious hues of the soundscape reflect a sense of curiosity and possibility in the canyons of sound.” Working in his home studio and using 8-track tape (the infamous Tascam 388), Miles performs almost everything on this record: guitars, synths, bass, drums, manipulated tape delay, and vocals. A few friends played with him, guesting on drums (“Hidden Things” and “Earth Has Doors”) and viola (“As the Orchard”), while his wife Sarah sings some harmonies on side A....full text |

| Though the creative nucleus of the Fresh & Onlys consists of frontman Tim Cohen and bassist Shayde Sartin, guitarist Wymond Miles is an equally valuable component of the band. Of course he is: It's not like he's a second-chair French horn player for Arcade Fire, he's the lead guitarist of a relatively straightforward garage-rock quartet. Aside from being 25% of the band, his work is integral to the group's success: It's difficult imagining what "Grey-Eyed Girls" would sound like without his rippling, jangly leads or "August in My Mind" and "Waterfall" minus his Morricone-in-a-punk-basement fretwork. But regardless of how essential he is to his group, being a guitarist is only one of many forms of musical expression, which is why many sidemen fiddle around with solo projects. That said, Earth Has Doors feels like the diametric opposite of "fiddling around." The same could be said about his life. After writing these songs hunched over an eight-track four years ago, Miles shelved his solo work in favor of responsibilities familial (he has a child), professional (the Fresh & Onlys are currently gearing up to release a new album, their fourth in the past 36 months), and intellectual (he has a degree in the humanities). The latter is clearly displayed on the EP, which has been presented as a rumination on the deep sense of existentialism that strikes many people approaching their thirties....full text |

Did you love or hate the album? Submit your comments using the comment segment! Just as assured via the press release, the Earth Has Doors download is an excellent record. What they didn’t show was that the lyrics undoubtedly surrender to sharp, poetic imagery and only dirty writing as well as laid back repetition. Nevertheless new tracks here really feel amazingly produced, however, Wymond Miles’s lyrics feel, in general, devoid of any actual emotion or simply inflection, filled instead with vacant metaphors and consequently hollow refrains. Which usually isn’t to say it’s a monotonous or unfulfilling listen, by itself. Opening slice pockets brightly with its nuanced, unexpected shifts in characteristics, while stomping 2nd tune boasts some stirring upright notes over chilling words that doesn’t sound unnatural. The album download picks up a certain amount of steam following the 3rd song with its overwrought, airy ordre suggesting there’s still a heartbeat underneath “Earth Has Doors” suffocatingly gluant production. The rousing final track tersely shifting hits the actual albums emotive peak.Though it’s a bit too uncertain in tone and elegance to become as immediately gripping as several other 2011 MP3 leaks within the same music genre, the Earth Has Doors download leak provides plenty of sonic nuance to bear regular spins, particularly if you by no means had a life-altering experience with a Wymond Miles track in the background before. While the new tracks sound exciting enough, there’s often not much happening from the pen and ink department Wymond Miles may have aged beautifully, however their lyricists requires a healthy shot in the arm, now! I hope you like the Wymond Miles Earth Has Doors Mediafire download....full text |
