The last time the beloved cult director released a mix album under his own name, he gathered together an odd, intriguing, and nonstop fun passel of Christmas tunes. This time the auteur behind Hairspray, Pink Flamingos, and Polyester would like to suggest tunes to play on your next date — with him. | John Waters is a very funny and charming man. Even if you don’t like his bizarre and often hilariously disgusting movies, you have to admit the man is a hoot. (Or seen him act; his recent cameo in My Name Is Earl was boffo entertainment.) And no one can deny that the man has a great ear for music—his films are always littered with great R&B classics, and I still think Cry Baby, his musical starring Johnny Depp, is his greatest achievement....full text |

| Film buffs won't be shocked to hear that a love-song compilation from director John Waters (Cry-Baby, Hairspray) is heavy on '50s camp and confused sexuality. Much more surprising is that a man infamous for his "bad taste" is such an able curator, spanning five decades in aid of his perverted whims.
