| Some people are just born to sing. You know, the type who are blessed with a voice so smooth, soulful or powerful that they could record a rendition of “The Good Ship Lollipop” and it’d sound better than half the stuff making it to CD these days. | With no Tindersticks activity seeming likely in the near future, Stuart Staples takes to the studio himself for the second time with an album that does pretty much what it says on the tin. All of the songs here are about loss, leaving, being left and wanting to leave, which as anyone familiar with Tindersticks will tell you are themes that Staples may have touched upon once or twice over the course of his long and languid career....full text |
