| It’s not like they went away but somehow this feels like a comeback. Regardless of the trend, Teenage Fanclub will always be driven by songwriting. Eschewed are the synthesizers and pristine production of the Fanclub’s mid-’90s zenith, in favor of a relaxed sound, channeling fellow Scottish countrymen the Pastels and Belle & Sebastian. Willing to rock, but not reaching up to the havoc of 1991’s Bandwagonesque, Man-Made is better suited to a well-lit porch than a murky club....full text |
